GETTING STARTED:
There are some general rules we follow during training at StandAlone MMA. StandAlone MMA does not teach students martial arts to encourage violent behavior outside the gym. We reserve the right to refuse training to anybody.
NO EGOS, BAD ATTITUDES OR POLITICS!!!
Etiquette:
There are a number of items all students should obtain at their earliest convenience. This equipment not only protects yourself but your training partner as well. These items will allow you to perform the necessary exercises and drills.
Muay Thai/MMA striking – Thai shorts, hand wraps, boxing gloves (16oz or 14 oz training gloves), mouthpiece, shin guards and groin protectors. As you progress you will need headgear for optional sparring.
No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu/ Grappling: Mouthpiece, groin protector, shorts and rash guard
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Gi, mouthpiece, groin protector
MMA: Shorts, rash guard, mouthpiece, hand wraps, boxing and MMA gloves (training versions), shin guards, headgear
We have boxing gloves and shinguards at the gym for beginners to use but you are encouraged to get your own gear.
